Even me, I sell flowers, just like my dad and his dad before him, but when they had a stall, back in their day all that was available was what they could get from Cornwall . Oh they'd get the odd tulip from Amsterdam , but they'd cost a bomb.

But nowadays, I get stuff from all over the world, and let me tell you something, some of the flowers that I sell on this stall are the most beautiful things on earth.

I love to put smiles on peoples faces, I do.

Flowers do that for everybody.

Its not just me though, even back in my dad's day, there wasn't as much available as there is today.

I mean if you wanted exotic spices you couldn't get em, and even if you could, who could afford them?

But today, you can get a barrel load of top gear from Amerjit's stall for less than a fiver.

Once you start to mix with different cultures it changes your outlook.

Of course, not everybody sees it that way. I mean, you see Tark over there, some people call him names and make fun. He lost both his legs to a landmine in Macedonia , fighting for the British Army, the Royal Gurkas.

Everyone's got a story.

We can all learn stuff from each other it doesn't have to be important, just something simple, but it makes life worth living.

Isn't that what it's all about?

My Pal Jerome here, reckons that if I do this everyday, it'll keep the rain away, but I don't think it works as well in England as it does in Africa . But it gives the punters a laugh don't it.

We're a proud lot in the East End, I'm proud, I'm proud of my roots, I'm proud of my family, I'm proud of my stall and I'm very proud to be able to share in what this lot have to offer.

Everyone's got a story, everyone needs to belong, so lets celebrate us, celebrate diversity, this is not a bad place to live when you think about it.
