b. What does this suggest about the Star newspaper and its position on the strike?

3. How important do you think Cardinal Manning was in bringing the Dock Strike to an end?

4. Which parts of Source E would you consider to be factual and which parts are more the opinion and imagination of the authors? Do you think this is good historical writing?

5. Using Sources F-J write a short account of the effects of the Dock Strike. Make clear points with supporting information to explain your point.

At the end of your account draw your own conclusions about the extent to which the strike was successful. Consider:

- how far the dockers got what they were demanding.

- whether the Dock Strike solved the problems between employers and dockers and led to better relations.
