Police Check Procedure
The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham is a CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) registered organisation.
All volunteer applicants will need to complete an enhanced disclosure criminal records check before they can start mentoring.
This is to ensure the safety of the children we work with, although it is important to note that not all criminal convictions would preclude you from working with the LACHES Volunteer Mentor Team. Please list any in Section 11 of the Volunteer Application Form.
The Criminal Records Bureau will require the following information: The name of our organisation: LACHES Volunteer Mentor Team, The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham
The disclosure application form will be sent out two weeks before the training course commences. We would then ask you to bring the completed form and as many proof of identity as you can produce to the first day of training.
N.B. All police checks are strictly confidential to the registered persons within LACHES Volunteer Mentor Team.
