Volunteering in Barking & Dagenham

‘Link Up’ Mentoring Project

This project is part of the Borough’s new and innovative youth offer.

It recruits and trains adults from the local community to become volunteer mentors to young people aged between 14 and 19 years who are NEET (Not in Employment, Education or Training) or at risk of becoming NEET. Our intentions are to help them to re-engage with schools, colleges and training opportunities to achieve their aspirations and move forward positively and improve their life chances.

This is a national award winning project and is holders of Approved Provider Standard by the Mentoring and Befriending Foundation (MBF) who benchmark good practice on behalf of the Cabinet Office and the DCSF.

If you would like to find out more about becoming a volunteer mentor please call for an information pack - 020 8270 6039 or email tracey.clarke@lbbd.gov.uk
