Establishing a school system for Monitoring and Evaluation
The school co-ordinator should establish
close links with tutors and/or service providers (including
voluntary/community groups) to ensure that basic guidelines
on monitoring and evaluating the programme are being met.
Tutor Programme Outlines
The school co-ordinator is responsible for reporting on the
progress of each activity, including learning aims and objectives
and ensuring that those engaged in out of school hours activities
are aware of reporting procedures, so that a complete evaluation
of each activity is supplied.
The school co-ordinator should use this information to complete
the Annual Monitoring Report which should then be submitted
to the Out of School Hours Learning Development Co-ordinator,
who in turn is responsible for reporting to NOF.
The programme report can be for a single session or to evaluate
longer projects, which might be for one or two terms, or the
whole year. The purpose of the report is to:
Pupil Evaluation
Where possible the opinions of pupils engaged in out of school
hours learning should be sought to evaluate the success (or
otherwise) of each activity; this information can then be
used when planning and revising future programmes.
