Barking and Dagenham are one of three LAs to be selected by the DfES to be part of the £20m ICT Test Bed Project.
This project is designed to demonstrate the impact that high levels of investment in ICT can have on:
raising standards of attainment across the curriculum;
improving the effective management of schools
enabling teachers to focus on core teaching tasks.
The four year project will directly involve three secondary schools and six primary schools, although all schools in the Borough will benefit in many ways.
Across the cluster of 9 schools, Barking College and the LA there will be a range of activities aimed at widening community participation.
All teaching rooms will be equipped with the latest technology to support interactive whole class teaching.
